Mimi's is In the Mail.
Rose's and Dorie's and Pasha's and my pal Lindy's are in my home.. trying not get drool on them...
They are so very cool, I am suffering a teeny bit of what I like to call Craft-timidation. In the best way, of course.
I did a few fat quarters with an art nouveau design with vines that are silkscreen and lino block for the blossoms.
I guess I think it is pretty but not "charming".
So I looked through my Lotta Jansotter book and decided to try again.
After all, it was her book that made me think that printing fabric might be deeply fun.
I did a new screen freehand inspired by her cleaner and truly charming designs and my husband's succulent and cactus container garden.
the new WIP:
Oh and I did eventually post a Flickr group for us to all post the fabric-y goodness...
Check it out! We can post the fabric and also the great stuff it will become.
I will be done printing in time .. But JUST.
How about the rest of you swappers?
Will you be able to mail by Friday?

I found the hardest part was to make something that was my "style". Translating what ever it is that is personal to my work to this new art form. Great challenge! I think both of your prints look fantastic!
huge, scary case of craftimidation happening over here. everything you've done, and what i've seen in the Flickr pool, is so FANTASTIC, i'm feeling worried about being the dud in the bunch! but i'll get over it and get my offerings in the mail by Friday!
Are you kidding me?! I LOVE the art deco flowers. I was slobbering before I even read about it. The cacti are cool, too ... but you shouldn't sell yourself short. :)
Your prints are great. Really. There is also a whole lotta talent going on in this swap!
Bitter Betty- I need your address please!!!!! I never got an email about confirming the swap details- Calamity kim- f9419235449@netzero.com
crappo... i might be monday???? is that ok?
love you fabrics too, and am worried about the intimidation factor myself. but, i shall carry on.
I can send it out Sat. morning! I'm stuck on a construction job that will never end! :-(
(I too am worried about feeling like the dud of the bunch!)
i'll be sending mine out today, friday that is.
Had a little puppy emergency (she's fine) so I got behind, but mine will be in the mail on Monday. I promise! Now I'm off to see how the flicker thing works :)
I love the deco fabric, too. It's hard to print on bright colors, but yours looks perfect! Your cacti print is great, too.
They are both great. Slice me off a yard or 2 of that 1st one please! Darn, I wish I could screenprint!
I grovel; family obligations, yadda, yadda, appalling case of craftimidation (exactly the word)forced re-evaluation and additional printing, overnighting tomorrow night, I promise, there by Aug 1.
Promise.
With great sadness I must bow out. I've dyed, bought supplies, obsessed and then family life got in the way. My great loss, I can see.
I can't wait to see all of the goodness!
No, I'm the dud. The initimidation was fierce! Good to stretch some unused mental muscle though... I only had about a half yard that was totally unpresentable so I guess that's not too bad. Mine went in the mail today (Tuesday), a little late but not too much. The flickr group is GREAT. Love those square dancers.
Oh, those look so beautiful. And what a wonderful idea. Do you just stamp the fabric with dye or paint?
Oh my gosh, so many beautiful prints! I wish I could buy bolts of them for the shop! Love the cacti (it's screaming "kitchen set" to me.)
Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! I was so excited when you announced this swap - I couldn't wait to see what people would come up with. I'm way into your nouveau print - the lines and the colors are fantastic.
