What's Happenin' Wednesday: How to fill some days off blogging.

So what do I do when not updating the world at large with my generalized craftiness?

1) Make 24 jars of ridiculously delicious organic strawberry jam. Flavor some with lime, flavor some with basil, flavor some with mint. Make labels and wrap for Christmas presents. But keep many many jars for personal consumption as well. Need the recipe?

2) Do some new landscaping. Lots and Lots of it, actually. Hardscaping is, in fact, rather hard.
3)Pull Weeds... A Lot. 100 gallons of them.
4) Keep the clothes off the bedroom floor for 8 consecutive days. And make the bed before noon.
5) Try your hand at some weak attempts at spring cleaning. Don't surrender the hope, but make only a little headway.
6) Do Mystical Artichoke Experiments; force an artichoke to bloom with no water after being cut and drying out for 3 weeks, simply by moving it to the cookbook area.

7) Embroider more sign language samplers.

8) Finish some cool jewelry.
9) Enjoy the first days of summer by torturing your sweet kid by doing "summer home schooling".
10) Make ginger lemon cookies with same kid for father's day present.
11) Ruin your husband's birthday cake. Total flop.
12) Plant drought tolerant flowers. ( I'm cheating here... I think this actually falls under the landscape listing.)
13) Make really yummy dinners from the Farm Share veggie box.
Pasta with tofu sausage, spinach, pine nuts and dried cranberries.
Grilled pineapple, shrimp and tofu salad with mint over spicy peanut noodles.
Heavenly omelette's with asparagus, scallions and smoked salmon with goat cheese and spring potatoes and carrots roasted with oregano and lemon,
and eat well but don't photograph a single one.
14) Clean off the deck. (Including putting the Christmas Tree stand away. OMG!)
15) Take 6 boxes of stuff to Goodwill.
16) Bring 3 bags of stuff back.

17) Go to the spa with a group of lady friends.
18) While you are there, drink too much before dinner and swipe a bike-surrey thing with your sister as accomplice.
19) Put it back where you found it, after a joy ride around the parking lot, because you're rowdy- not evil.
20) Get completely addicted to "Lost" on dvd.
21)Craft here and there in an attempt to decrease the stash and finally update the poor languishing etsy shop.

22)Finally finish the limoncello and decide to try a different recipe next time.
23) Feel a little guilty for not keeping up with the blog.

PS: To the sweet people who asked about the lace necklaces: They will be in my Etsy shop. Monday is my goal date.

oooohhhhhh....I was wondering if you were making any headway on your pond. Sounds like you are. Isn't summer wonderful! Glad to see the little stash of fabric I passed along is going to get used.
How do you get so much done?! Both you and Michelle amaze me....

I was beginning to wonder where you went. Rowdy, not evil. I love that. Isn't amazing how much you get done when not blogging. Some inverse relationship or something.

and *yes please* to the strawberry jam recipe. not like i have time for canning at the moment but one day I will and I've tried several strawberry jam recipes that all made me sad.

What a lovely post! I'm very interested in the home made organic jam - not that I've ever tried making / canning my own jams before but I am curious to see what's in it, and how difficult it is too...

Same - didn't know artichokes bloomed! It's gorgeous.

Strawberry jam and list a mile long...I am completely impressed. I wish I had a little limoncello to chase the list down with.

The artichoke...I don't know what to say. It reminded me of a sea anemone.

Wow. I was feeling like maybe next week I do some weeding and maybe (just maybe) clean up our kitchen...then I read the list of all you've accomplished. Now I feel even more lazy than ever. I am not motivated at all...

Though, you do have me hopeful about making some jam and then cleaning up the kitchen!

ROFL about your week. My list would be 3 items, and very boring. I totally relate especially to the took 6 bags to goodwill, brought 3 back. I had no idea an artichoke would even bloom>?!

Ok, so now I need a stiff drink down to recover - that was exhausting to read! I'd forget the housework. Obviously you were meant for better things and clothes on the floor just mean less laundry in the basket! Hurrah to that! don't you find children (and husbands) will always wear something one more time if given no other option?! Lime, mint, strawbs, yes please!! mmmmm.

I've missed you, but I see you have plenty of valid excuses for not being bloggy. The sign language sampler is awesome, and the orange and blue eggs are super cool. Do pop in again, won't you?

cor, that sounds a whole lot more interesting than my blogging break. drive a long way - set up show - get very fed up with it - sleep badly in bunkbed - pack show all up again - drive a long way home again.
no artichokes of any sort!

I didn't know you were blog MIA because my internet was also MIA and I also spent the time making jam ;) the no-internet productivity is amazing. I did strawberry lemon, strawberry freezer jam and apricot. All pretty good. I'll have to try it without pectin next time!

Ugh.... I only wish I had gotten so much done... but I am also "summer-busy"... good stuff but it does not leave much time for blogging and such. Glad to know things are going well for you.
