Finish#12 : It's a Mr. E

Just a silly bunch of wooden pieces I couldn't pass up a the thrift store.
I have tons of weird little items that wait for inspiration to strike.
Clever name inspired by my nephew, who actually wears the same hat.
Now a little creature, maybe a prototype for a robot figure?
Finish a Day is great for doing some stash busting.

Lace Jelly Fish ...Would you like a tutorial?

I made these litte snippets for a really lovely project that is being made by a very creative person that I discovered because she left me a comment. I think I failed to reach out to her earlier, but from the moment i followed her profile to her beautiful blog...I not only was fascinated by her project, I actually wanted to be her.

Shelley Noble is making a movie. A beautiful looking, intensely rich picture poem and it is going to move. Like it is alive. It's called Halfland and and it has captured my imagination entirely.

Happily, Shelley was looking for contributors for her underwater scene.. So in a very small way I did get to play at being her. The detailed puppeteer without strings.

I'll be mailing these to her as soon as I get back from careening across states with my wild teenage artist. We will be leaving guerrilla art souvenirs and sampling as many kinds of pies as we can find. Documenting our progress in polaroid and fisheye lomo along the way.

But should these be a tutorial? Does everyone need some fancy tiny jelly fish and a few less doilies?

Made By Someone Else Monday: thinking about the week

Well, I have a lot to post about and hopefully I will get to, but life is super busy here at Chez Betty.
Today I have a nasty dental visit to contend with, Jacob's play closed, so he is starting on a cool multi-media canvas, there was a weed vs. flowers battle in the garden (it is a draw, so far), and the fridge needs yet another deep clean.

That is it. I can't cram in anything else.... Unless my mouth recovers quickly and I can go see Harry Potter tonight. I might be able to fit THAT in. ( Snape, Snape, Severus Snape- Dumbledore!)

Tomorrow, I am wishing for more peaches to make more jam with my significant mother, Merideth, from up the street. Because I simply can't part with a single jar of mine, as I am a selfish girl, who really like her jam.

So in the spirit of spirited laziness and a true lack of direction, please enjoy is video. It is for kids... but clearly I am having a 'maturity-challenged' kind of day today.

On Monday, I Never Go To Work,
Except to Scrub The Fridge Out,
Betty
