Mod Podge
Wooden Embroidery hoop
Assorted pretty papers
Tools:
fine sandpaper
scissors
small brush
Step one: lightly sand and wipe to remove dust.
Step Two: crease paper around hoop to center designs and to mark for trimming.
Step Three: trim paper strips to fit ( just inside the creases you made).. plan layout.
Step 4: Decoupage! First, take the hoops apart so you don't accidentally stick them together. Coat outside of the outside hoop with a medium layer of Mod Podge. Place papers on hoop and coat the top of the papers with another coat of Mod Podge. Be sure to work out any bubbles as you go.. ( i find my fingers to be the best tool for this.) Let dry completely.
Step 5: another coat ( outside of hoop only ). let dry and ...
Viola! Hoop dreams.

That rocks as a way cool idea. Especially becaue the hoops I last looked at... at Michaels were so cheap and splintery. Unlike the classy ones my mom has passed along to me. I only say that because she herself told me they were classy when she gave them to me. I didn't know what she was talking about (Charlie Brown adult talking noises). Maybe I'll rock her cross-stitchin' world and make her one!!!

This is a great project. It's also a very clear tutorial. This would definitely be a great hand-made gift for a stitcher!

I am a lucky girl. First let me say, I was totally annyoed at myself for not getting you my address sooner for the treats. However, the fact that I got them now was perfect. The Sunday was very very hot. And just as it cooled down, I waled in the desert path to the ailbox. Where I found...A package. I had a hige flashlight with me.. the stars shining bright! And what treasures I did find... and my favorite scent emerging from this adorbale box! Thank you! I have the necklace on now!!!! ANd the tag will hang on my christmas bracnh which has decided to stay up all the time now... and the sachet is in my lap.. after which it will go to my loftish space an reside right by me, to infuse my nostrils...I am a lucky girl, to be able to get one year celebration goodies!! Yippee!!! Youa re the best.. a great find to a lovely starry starry night.

Lovely. Also something I would never do! I was in a fabric store today and they had a wall with different sized embroidery hoops on it. Each hoop had a nicely patterned piece of fabric inside it. A nice decoration. I could see your decoupaged hoops as frames for photo transfer photographs on blank fabric. Does that make sense? Hmmm, maybe that should go on my TO Do list.
Oh cool! What a great idea!!! Those will make such great gifts...I might just do one of those tonight!
