Made it Myself Monday: Some Handmade Holiday LOVE

So this is what I finished last week:

Eco-Friendly Owl Handbag: Recycled sweater, rescued handle, recycled inner facing and splurged on the new gorgeous Amy Butler fabric.. from a great local shop.

Because shopping local is important too.

Used again, here:

The purse ensemble: check book, tissue holder ( thanks, Cassi) cosmetic bag, and change purse.
( modified, but inspired by Kerry)...

Rose hat, tutu, and wings (modified from the Halloween tutorial from Threadbanger) ..

Did I have fun making all this stuff? You bet I did!

Yes Virginia, Handmade Holiday is worth it. Really Worth It.

But, I better go get cracking on this weeks to do list! I have about 10 more people to make for!
and if I am baking that is about a person a day!

Giddy-up.

Love the purse and all the purse accessories! I felted a sweater last week. It was a first for me. all the little balls of wool in the washer were funny. I also made a purse out of felted sweater.

OK, I know I overuse the world love and take the easy way out of the language, but I love that owl purse. I'm fairly impressed with everyone's handmade items this year. I'm behind, but there's still time!

The owl bag is cool but I especially love all the bag accoutrements you've made to go with it.

Okay, that owl bag takes the cake. I mean, seriously, one of the best things I've seen on the internet in a while.

Amazing, amazing stuff. Booty. Loot. That family of yours is really going to clean up. No bleeding fingers though, OK?
