Tuesday? Really?

Hmm... already Tuesday, already September. 8 day since my last post.
I'm in deep denial.
So here you go... some images of cute animals and purchased loot to distract you from the fact that my promise to start blogging regularly again has not yet been fulfilled:

Gratuitous Thrift:

more stuff I don't need and could not live without.

Gratuitous Kitten:

i just love the sly smile

Gratuitous Pup:

snozzle

Gratuitous Cicada Studios Fabric Splurge:

they make me a little weepy, they are so pretty

As for serious news?
My son is now the same height as myself, I am working on a cool top secret project with my sister, I am sewing a new vintage garment, in swanky, saucy animal print-ish velveteen, the pup can roll over on command (and often actually does), the fridge has been clean and organized for 4 straight weeks, I gained back 3 of the pounds I lost since I started walking almost every day, and J actually likes at least one of his teachers this year.

Let's all have a hearty cheer for Mrs. Anderson, Miracle Woman!

All right, I really will start posting regularly again. I'm serious. This time I really mean it.

It's a funny thing when your boy can look you straight in the eye. Just make sure that when his feet are the same size as yours, treat him to the nicest slippers you can find (May I suggest Minnetonka mocs?) He will outgrow them and you will inherit them. When he's his dad's size, treat him to some really swell dress shoes. Enjoy him, they wander off so quickly.

*?*WHAT*?* is that red and white thing in the first photo? Is it a window shade or a rug? Either way, I want it! Right now!

I'm digging that dandelion fabric. And I totally spy a clear glass owl dish in your pile of goodies. Also, the test tubes are an awesome score.

Were I one to get weepy over fabrics, I'd be crying my eyes out - those are unbelievably gorgeous! And yay for Mrs. Anderson... may the school year progress so that your son finds a couple more decent ones in the bunch!

SCORE! That brick paper stuff! I had some of that and used every bit making chimney boxes for people's christmas presents.

Test tubes in a stand?! Instant bud vases - what a find! Love the corrugated brick paper. Every grade school teacher on the planet used that stuff to make a stockings-hung-by-the-chimney-with-care bulletin board every xmas. Ah, memories. Thanks for sharing your loot.

That fabric is to die for! I never heard of that kind before. Great shot of pup as well.

Sometimes I guess life happens and logs get put on the backburner. I'm sure you'll be back "on it" soon! x

Bad news... it's Thursday. :D

Awesome photos. I'm glad the kiddo is finding teachers he likes this year. That's always a plus. Wish my kid liked his teachers. *wink*

I love that dish with all the gold on it and the lid. I would have bought that for sure. I really love the third fabric pictured!!!!

You've got a good pet life going. My dog has yet to learn to roll over (my guy is trying to teach her) but she'll jump on command (and HIGH!!). Milo is getting so big!

So is your kid apparently. How does it feel? To have the baby you nursed be looking you straight in the eye? I think I'll trip out on that a little.

O.M.G. Seeing that roll of brick paper brings back elventy million elementary school memories! Fabulous stuff.

We still have a couple years to go (I think (before Dean can look me in the eye) but I can feel it coming. Ugh. You have my deepest sympathies.
